The Town of Pound Ridge Recreation & Parks Department hires many employees to help run the pools and camps during the summer months. We are looking for responsible employees who are creative team leaders and enjoy working with the community!

Assistant Pool Director - Afternoons 

Must be 21 or older. 

Afternoon - 2:45-7:30 PM, Pool Season Dates: May 22nd-Sept 7th, Pre-Season Dates: May 4th - May 21st 

(Paperwork, organizing, pool set up, orientation/drills and check in with the Recreation Department). 

Town of Pound Ridge Pool Assistant Director oversees all aspects of a swimming pool's operations, including staff management, safety enforcement, and facility maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patrons. Key duties include creating staff schedules, hiring and training lifeguards, monitoring water quality and chemical levels, and enforcing facility rules. They are also responsible for administrative tasks like record-keeping, managing budgets, and sometimes organizing pool events. 


Park Maintenance 

Applicants are 18 years and older, and have completed 12th grade with related experience.

Monday-Friday, June 22nd - August 7th, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Opportunities for night shifts on event nights throughout the summer. 


Lifeguards 

Must be 15 years of age or older and be Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid & AED certified. Part time and full time positions available. Must be available for staff orientation dates. 


Booth Guards 

Must be 15 years of age or older. 

Booth Guards will check in pool pass members at the gate and be responsible for using the POS system for guest passes. Must be available for staff orientation dates. 


Camp & Teen Travel Counselors 

Must be 16 years of age or older. 

Counselors will be responsible for caring for and mentoring children aged 3 -14. Participating with them in daily camp activities including swimming, art, sports, and other outdoor activities. 

Camp Dates - June 29th-Aug 7th 

Must be available for staff orientation dates. 


Day Camp CITS 

Age 15 by the first day of camp. 

The CIT is a volunteer position. They are training and learning what the job of a counselor is.  A CIT works alongside more seasoned employees to learn the program and culture of the camp.   


Want to be a Lifeguard? Take a course with Melissa Farella 

Join us for a three day Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid & AED training. Must be 15 years of age or older. Must be available for all three days of the class. 

All participants must complete the required swimming skills prerequisite on the first day of the class to continue taking the course. The prerequisite skills assessments include a swim-tread-swim and a timed event sequence.

Throughout the course, participants will learn and be evaluated on knowledge and skills related to lifeguarding, water rescues, extrications, CPR and AED and First Aid.In addition, at the conclusion of the course, participants must successfully complete 3 final skills assessments:

  1. Rotate in-conduct surveillance – rotate out
  2. Timed Single-rescuer CPR Scenario
  3. Multiple Rescuer Response Scenario

Participants are required to take one final written exam consisting of 50 questions and score a minimum of 80%.

Saturday June 6th: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pound Ridge Town House & Pool

Sunday June 7th: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pound Ridge Town House & Pool
